The 178B0046 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. It controls three-phase induction motors used in air-handling units, chillers, and circulating pumps. By adjusting the output frequency, the drive maintains the target airflow or water pressure while reducing energy consumption and mechanical wear. Installed inside a control panel, it converts fixed line voltage into a regulated waveform suitable for the motor. The drive serves as the electrical interface between the building’s power supply and its rotating equipment.
The operating voltage spans 380–460 VAC, allowing the drive to connect to standard 400 V three-phase distribution without a transformer. With a continuous output rating of 45 kW/60 HP, it can control medium-sized blowers or compressors in commercial facilities. The housing has a Compact IP20 rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact when the drive is mounted inside a ventilated enclosure.
