175Z7058 is a Danfoss industrial frequency converter. It has been developed for motor control applications. The converter controls motors by varying its output frequency. As both the input line frequency and voltage amplitude are fixed, the converter uses power conversion techniques to produce a variable output. It first uses rectification to obtain intermediate DC, and then performs a controlled inversion on the DC to produce AC output that is variable. Specifically, the output voltage can be varied from 0 Volts to the maximum input amplitude, which in this case is 460 Volts. The output frequency can be varied from DC, i.e. 0 Hertz, to a maximum value of 1000 Hertz. Protection class of the 175Z7058 converter unit is IP54. This type of enclosure provides limited dust ingress protection and is safe from water splashes.
