Danfoss supplies the 175Z7033 variable frequency drive within the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. The product is intended for HVAC applications, where it regulates centrifugal pumps, supply fans, and other air-handling equipment by adjusting motor speed instead of relying on mechanical throttling. In industrial automation systems, the drive serves as the power stage between a facility controller and a three-phase induction motor. It delivers the commanded frequency and voltage while monitoring operating data to support efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning processes. Variable-speed operation also allows connected equipment to respond to changing airflow, pressure, or temperature demands without continuously running at full speed.
The power section is rated at 30 kW/40 HP, providing sufficient capacity for medium-sized pumps and air movers. A 380–460 VAC input range allows direct connection to common three-phase building power systems without a transformer. The compact IP20 enclosure protects internal electronics against contact with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm while maintaining a slim profile for panel installation. Users interact with the drive through an LCP-equipped keypad, which supports local starting, stopping, status review, and parameter adjustment. An integrated Class A1 and B filter attenuates conducted electrical noise to support operation in residential, commercial, and light-industrial environments. The front controls provide direct access to operating information when the facility controller is unavailable or local control is required.
The drive is supplied in a standard configuration without factory-installed control extensions that would alter its basic operating functions. Its uncoated circuit boards require installation in a clean, dry electrical room or a suitable external cabinet when moisture, dust, or corrosive contaminants are present. The drive includes no fieldbus options, so remote commands and operating signals are handled through its available discrete and analog inputs and outputs. Fixed-frequency bypass arrangements can be connected where the application requires an alternate method of running the motor. The straightforward control arrangement supports integration with existing building automation equipment that uses conventional start, stop, speed-reference, and status signals.
