The 175Z7005 is a variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT 6000 HVAC Drives series. The unit modulates power supplied to three-phase induction motors in air handlers, pumps, and other ventilation equipment, allowing automation systems to match motor speed to load and reduce energy use. This AC inverter is designed for control-panel mounting. It converts a fixed utility supply into a variable-frequency output for closed-loop regulation of airflow and water circulation in commercial climate-control systems.

The drive accepts a mains input of 380–460 VAC, so it connects directly to standard industrial power without an external transformer. Its continuous output capability is 1.5 kW or 2.0 HP, which indicates the maximum continuous mechanical load available to the connected fan or pump under rated conditions. The book-style IP20 enclosure has a narrow form that fits in tight cabinet spaces while providing basic protection against accidental contact with internal components. To limit electromagnetic interference, the drive includes Class A1 and Class B filtering, allowing the assembly to meet common building-service electromagnetic compatibility requirements without separate line filters. Setpoints and operating parameters are entered through the integrated LCP (Local Control Panel), which provides keypad access and real-time status information without additional programming equipment. The drive uses an uncoated circuit board, making it suitable for clean mechanical rooms but requiring protection from excessive humidity and corrosive airborne contaminants. It is supplied as a standard unit, with terminals, fuses, and cooling passages that follow the baseline VLT 6000 layout. The application and fieldbus extension slots are unpopulated, leaving them available for compatible communication or control cards. Standalone operation remains available for HVAC loops that do not require an added fieldbus interface. Adequate cabinet ventilation should be maintained so heat can leave the narrow enclosure during continuous motor operation. The surrounding panel should also prevent dust, dripping water, and conductive debris from reaching the IP20 housing or its exposed connection points.
