Product Description:
The Danfoss VLT 5011 Frequency Converter is designed to provide continuous operation with an input supply of 3 x 380 to 500 V AC. The frequency range of this frequency converter is 0-1000 Hz and is applicable in a wide range of industrial fields demanding variable frequency. It offers extensive protection ratings, including IP20/NEMA 1 and IP54/NEMA 12, and can perform reliably even in harsh environments with an ambient temperature of up to 45 degrees C. This converter is designed to withstand environmental variations and has been tested and is expected to work reliably at 0 degrees C and can still perform well at temperatures as low as -10 degrees C.
An important performance feature of VLT 5011 is its apparent power, which is between 12.2 and 12.6 kVA. Apparent power is the overall power it withdraws from the supply, which consists of active power and reactive power (which it uses to create the magnetic field). This value represents the total electrical load of the motor and assists in choosing an appropriate power supply, the wire size, and protective equipment. The VLT 5011 reduces the energy loss and avoids overloading the supply network by maximizing the optimal apparent power, resulting in efficient energy consumption.
The apparent power is complemented by 7.5 kW rated motor power, which is an actual mechanical output of the motor under standard operating conditions. Apparent power determines the total electrical load a motor is capable of withstanding, whereas rated motor power determines the amount of energy successfully transferred into a mechanical output. Balanced input-to-output transfer feature improves converter's efficiency, as well as its ability to regulate speed and provide a constant, smooth torque to achieve consistent performance throughout a wide operating range
