Product Description:

The 178B2436 is an energy-efficient frequency converter unit built by Danfoss in response to customers’ demand for a pocket-friendly product that can effectively monitor the operation of three-phase motors and provide accurate torque and speed control according to configuration instructions pre-determined by the operator. This converter is an air-cooled device with two internal fans designed to provide a constant air flow over the heatsink for efficient cooling. The delivery package for this product is a recyclable cardboard box, and documentation containing instructions on the proper way to use this product is included in the delivery. The input voltage necessary for the operation of this product is supplied through a three-phase interface; this voltage is between 525 to about 600 volts and should be delivered at a frequency of 50 to 60 hertz.

The design of this unit is according to IP20. Although the unit is able to withstand large solids, it is vulnerable to smaller ones like dust and water splashes and should be installed inside an additional control cabinet that can provide reliable protection. At maximum load, the ambient temperature surrounding this product should be maintained below 40 degrees Celsius, sufficient space should also be allowed above and below this unit for easy air circulation. Motors controlled by the 178B2436 can produce a power output of approximately 2.2 kilowatts. There is no application option on this product.

The 178B2436 frequency converter can be installed side-by-side with other units of the same class without any space between them. The control panel is delivered with this unit. This panel features a display, keys for local operation, and keys for changing program parameters. The panel is removable and can be installed at distances up to 3 meters away from the converter itself.
