The 178B0365 is a Danfoss VLT 5000 AC drive. The nominal output power of the drive is 3.1 kVA. It can supply AC output with variable frequency and amplitude to a motor. The output frequency range is 0 to 1,000 Hertz. The output voltage range is 0 to input voltage amplitude. Depending on output voltage, the output current can take a value between 4.1 and 3.4 Amps. The 178B0365 inverter connects to three-phase AC mains. At 380 Volts input, it draws 3.8 Amps from the AC mains. At 500 Volts input, it draws 3.4 Amps from the AC mains. As long as the ambient temperature is below 45 ⁰C (113 ⁰F), it delivers nominal output. If the temperature rises above this upper threshold, the output of the inverter falls due to a process known as derating.
Operators can monitor and control the converter through a control panel. This control panel can be accessed at the front panel of the unit. An RS-485 serial interface allows high-speed serial communication with other serial-enabled devices. There are two programmable relay outputs on the converter. There are also two programmable analog and digital outputs with 0 to 24 Volts voltage range and 0 to 32 kilohertz frequency range. Current range for the analog output is 0/4 to 20 milliamps. The analog output resolution is 8 bits. There are four encoder/pulse input channels on the drive. The voltage range for these inputs is 0 to 24 Volts DC and the input resistance is 2 kiloohms. The input resolution is 10 bits plus the sign bit. Housing of the 178B0365 drive complies with IP20 protection class, making it suitable for indoor applications.
