The 175Z4335 is an AC frequency converter from Danfoss that belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. This unit modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to an induction motor so pumps, fans, and conveying lines can run at the required speed. Installed between the three-phase mains and the motor terminals, the converter provides closed-loop control of torque and energy consumption during normal and overload conditions. Its variable-frequency output also allows operating speed to follow changes in process demand without relying on mechanical throttling or other inefficient control methods.
The drive is housed in a compact IP20 enclosure that allows installation inside standard control cabinets while providing basic finger protection. It accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, matching common industrial networks without a step-up transformer. At the 110% overload rating, the unit delivers 22 kW. For high-inertia loads that require the 160% overload rating, its output is limited to 18.5 kW. Integrated fieldbus support is provided through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, enabling parameter access and setpoint commands from a PLC without additional gateway hardware. This connection also supports coordinated communication between the converter and the main control system during process operation.
An internal RFI network meets Class A1 and Class B filter limits, allowing the converter to operate in cabinets that contain sensitive instrumentation. The unit uses non-coated circuit boards, which do not have an added conformal layer over the electronics. Motor control is executed by a dedicated process control card that handles feedback scaling and proportional-integral regulation in real time. A supplied display on the front panel shows operating status, alarms, and key parameters for local monitoring and adjustment. The standard hardware build does not include an application option, while custom macros or external I/O can provide application-specific functions when required.
