The 175Z4317 is a frequency converter developed by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable output that allows the control system to regulate motor speed, limit inrush current, and match torque to process demand on conveyors, blowers, and pumping equipment. It occupies minimal panel space and integrates easily with centralized or distributed control architectures. By regulating both voltage and frequency, the converter improves energy use and reduces mechanical stress across production cycles.
The drive accepts a nominal input from a 380–500 V three-phase supply, aligning with common industrial power networks. Inside its IP20-rated housing, the terminals are finger-safe yet open to cabinet airflow, supporting the unit’s compact mounting style. Motor commands and diagnostic data can be transmitted through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, allowing coordinated operation with PLCs without additional gateway cards.
