Product Description:
The 175Z4300 is a Danfoss VLT 5000 series frequency converter. Its basic function and application is motor control. The converter – as the name implies – converts electrical power parameters to control motors. The input side of the power supply on the converter can accepts three-phase voltages in the 380 to 500 Volts range at 50 to 60 Hertz. The fixed frequency and amplitude of the AC mains can’t be used for motor control. The first stage in the conversion process, known as rectification, converts the AC input to DC. The second stage, known as inversion, uses control algorithms to convert the DC to AC output with variable amplitude and frequency. The range of output voltages of the 175Z4300 converter is 0 to the input voltage. The range of output frequencies is from 0 to 1000 Hertz.
Input current drawn by the converter is 31.5 Amps. The output current is 24 Amps continuous and 32 Amps intermitted. Output apparent power for the unit is 23 kVA. Chassis of the 175Z4300 converter is IP20 rated. The maximum permitted ambient temperature is 40 ⁰C. The maximum motor cable length for screened cables is 150 meters and the maximum length for unscreened cables is 300 meters. The high-power converter carries voltages that are extremely dangerous for human health. After disconnection from the AC mains, operators must wait for at least 15 minutes before working on the unit. Proper grounding is the responsibility of the operator. Failure to provide grounding protection can lead to equipment malfunction and/or human injury. To prevent ESD damage, operators should follow proper precautions when working on the drive. Temperature monitoring prevents drive damage by cutting-off power at 75 ⁰C.
