Product Description:

The 175Z4190 is a three-phase AC frequency converter produced by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Installed between the line supply and an induction motor, the unit modulates output frequency and voltage so that motor speed and torque can be regulated in automated pumps, fans, and conveyor systems. Its integrated power electronics support controlled acceleration, steady operation, and deceleration in cyclic industrial processes.

Electrical integration is centered on a nominal input range of 380–500 V from a three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to common industrial power systems without transformers. The power electronics are installed inside a compact IP20 housing, which protects against accidental contact while allowing heat to escape into the control cabinet. The drive has a standard configuration with a brake chopper; the chopper diverts regenerative energy to an external resistor so that overhauling motor loads do not raise the DC-link voltage excessively. For applications that require sustained overload capacity, the drive can deliver 45 kW at 110% of rated torque. A more demanding operating profile supports 37 kW at 160% of rated torque. These ratings allow the converter to accommodate different motor loads and acceleration requirements while remaining within its operating limits.

The control section includes a process control card, giving the converter standalone PID capability for pressure or flow regulation without an external PLC. A front-mounted supplied display presents parameter values, alarm messages, and real-time power readings, making operating conditions visible from the control panel. To limit conducted radio-frequency emissions on the line side, the converter integrates a Class A1 filter for use on industrial power networks. The display and process functions allow operating values to be monitored and adjusted directly at the drive. External control signals can still command speed or process setpoints when the converter is integrated into a larger automation system. The brake chopper manages regenerated energy during deceleration by switching it to a properly sized external braking resistor.
