The 175Z4153 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. In plant architectures, it functions as the central power stage, linking a three-phase mains feed to motors that require closed-loop velocity or pressure control. Common installations include conveyors, centrifugal pumps, and fan arrays where continuous adjustment improves efficiency and supports changing process demands.
The power section accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to common industrial feeders without isolation transformers. In applications that permit a 110% short-term overload, the converter delivers a continuous mechanical output of 30 kW. When 160% torque is required for heavy acceleration or breakaway loads, the rating is limited to 22 kW to keep semiconductor temperatures within acceptable limits. Internal regulation is handled by a process control card that executes proportional-integral algorithms for speed or pressure loops. For conducted emissions compliance, the integrated EMC network provides Class A1 and Class B filtering, reducing high-frequency noise on the supply bus and limiting interference with nearby equipment.
The printed circuit assemblies use non-coated boards, so the drive should be installed in an enclosure that protects it from corrosive atmospheres and excessive airborne contamination. A front-mounted operator panel with a supplied display presents parameter values and fault codes, enabling local setup and direct monitoring without auxiliary tools. Networking can be added later, but the standard configuration has no fieldbus option, so commands travel through the terminal strip or an optional serial gateway.
