The 175Z4119 is an AC frequency converter manufactured by Danfoss and classified within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It is intended to modulate the speed of three-phase induction motors so plant controllers can match pump, fan, or conveyor output to real-time process demand. By rectifying and then inverting the incoming mains power into a variable-frequency waveform, the unit supplies adjustable torque without mechanical throttling or gear changes.
The controller is housed in a compact IP20 enclosure that protects live parts while remaining slim enough for crowded control cabinets. It accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to common industrial mains. Two overload ratings are available. At 110% torque, the drive delivers 18.5 kW, while at 160% torque, it is limited to 15 kW. These values allow the inverter to be sized for either constant loads or loads requiring high breakaway torque. The internal power stage is extended with a 24 V backup and brake chopper, which keeps the control electronics active on auxiliary power during a loss of mains power and dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. A dedicated process control card manages PID loops and analog feedback without requiring external modules.
The configuration has no built-in application option, leaving the option bay available for future expansion. The printed circuit assemblies use non-coated boards, which require installation in a clean, dry environment. Network integration is not native because the converter has no fieldbus option, so start-stop signals and reference commands are handled through hardwired I/O or the process control card. A supplied display panel provides local access to parameters and basic diagnostics without requiring external tools. The IP20 enclosure is intended for installation inside a suitable control cabinet rather than direct exposure to dust or water. Analog control capability allows the converter to receive process references from common industrial sensors and control equipment.
