Product Description:
The 175Z4117 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As a modular AC drive, it regulates the speed and torque of induction motors used in automated pumps, fans, conveyors, and similar industrial equipment. Adjusting motor operation to changing process demand can reduce unnecessary energy use and provide more consistent control under variable loads. The converter is designed for integration into control cabinets and supplies the power electronics required for closed-loop speed regulation in industrial automation systems.
The drive accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to common industrial power distribution networks without an external transformer. Its compact IP20 housing is intended for installation in ventilated electrical rooms or protected cabinets, where surrounding airflow can remove operating heat. Under a 110% overload, the inverter can deliver up to 18.5 kW of mechanical output for applications with moderate short-term demand. During sustained operation at 160% torque, the available output is limited to 15 kW to protect the semiconductor bridge from excessive thermal stress. Conducted emissions are reduced by a built-in Class A1 and Class B filter, which supports installation in applicable electromagnetic compatibility zones. A process control card handles command logic, analog reference scaling, and operating-status feedback for supervisory control systems.
The unit is equipped with non-coated boards that are suitable for dry, cabinet-mounted environments without significant exposure to moisture or corrosive airborne contaminants. Local parameter entry and diagnostic access are available through the supplied display on the front panel, reducing the need for a separate programming device during setup and routine operation. Operators can use this interface to review operating values, adjust permitted parameters, and check drive status at the installation location. The base configuration has no fieldbus option, although compatible Danfoss expansion cards can provide network connectivity when required by the control architecture. The application option position is also left unpopulated so an appropriate module can be installed later if the machine configuration requires additional functionality.
