The 175Z4115 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss as a member of the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Designed for industrial automation, the converter adjusts motor speed by delivering variable voltage and frequency to three-phase machines, enabling tighter process control in pumps, fans, and material-handling lines. Its compact construction allows installation inside standard control panels where available space and effective heat dissipation are important.
It accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, so it interfaces directly with common industrial power networks without requiring an external transformer. At 110% overload, the drive can deliver up to 18.5 kW to the motor terminals, while a 160% torque demand is supported at 15 kW. These ratings accommodate operating conditions that include continuous loads and brief periods of higher torque demand. The unit has a standard configuration with a brake chopper, allowing it to dissipate regenerative energy during rapid motor deceleration. A compact IP20 enclosure provides finger-safe protection when the converter is installed inside a suitable control cabinet. Internal regulation tasks are handled by a process control card that supervises reference inputs, torque limits, operating conditions, and alarm functions.
The electronic layout uses uncoated circuit boards, so the converter should be installed in a clean, low-humidity enclosure that protects the electronics from moisture and airborne contaminants. A front-mounted display is supplied to show output frequency, current, operating status, and fault codes without requiring a connection to an external human-machine interface. The converter does not include dedicated application modules or a fieldbus option, so process signals are handled through its standard analog and relay interfaces. The converter has no specified electromagnetic compliance components, so an external radio-frequency interference filter must be installed where conducted-emission limits apply. Proper cabinet ventilation should also provide sufficient airflow around the enclosure to remove heat generated during sustained operation.
