Product Description:
The 175Z4102 is a plug-in module manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It functions as a process interface card that expands the regulation features available within a compatible inverter. Additional analog and digital signals can be connected to the main control board through this card, allowing field instruments to communicate directly with the drive. Closed-loop speed or torque commands can therefore be processed without routing every control signal through separate PLC channels, which reduces the amount of external control wiring required in an industrial automation system.
The option card receives power through the drive’s 380–500 V three-phase supply. With the card installed, the parent converter can deliver 15 kW at 110% overload or 11 kW when 160% torque is required during rapid acceleration. Its circuitry is housed in a compact IP54 casing, which protects internal components against dust and water splashes when the cabinet is accessed for service. A front-mounted HMI includes a supplied display that presents process values, operating status, and alarm codes. This local interface allows setpoints and feedback values to be viewed directly at the drive without requiring a separate handheld display.
The card’s function group is a process control card, so its control routines support proportional, integral, and derivative regulation rather than only basic start-and-stop commands. Component selection follows the standard hardware grade used for this drive configuration. No electromagnetic compatibility category is specified for the card, so an external line filter must be installed in the enclosure when Category C1 filtering is required. The additional control channels can support applications that rely on pressure, flow, speed, or torque feedback from connected field devices. Parameter structures remain consistent with the associated drive platform, allowing the added process signals to be configured through the existing control interface.
