Product Description:
The 175Z4099 is a variable-speed frequency converter produced by Danfoss and supplied under the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit controls three-phase induction motors used in automated processes. It modulates line frequency and voltage to regulate motor speed, enabling precise control of flow, pressure, or conveyor rates. This variable-speed operation can also reduce unnecessary motor output when the connected process operates below its maximum demand.
It operates from a 380–500 V three-phase mains supply, eliminating the need for external step-up or step-down transformers when connected to a compatible industrial power source. Under continuous duty, the drive delivers 15 kW when applications require 110% rated torque, while a reduced continuous output of 11 kW supports applications with 160% torque demands. Radio-frequency interference is attenuated by the built-in Class A1 and Class B filter, allowing the converter to operate near sensitive instrumentation when installed according to applicable wiring practices. All power and control electronics are enclosed in a compact IP20 frame that fits limited cabinet spaces and protects against accidental contact with internal components. The enclosure requires installation inside a suitable cabinet because it does not provide protection against water ingress.
Command logic is hosted on a process control card that provides on-drive PID regulation for standalone flow or temperature loops. A supplied multilingual display on the front of the unit presents live variables, parameter menus, operating conditions, and alarm history without requiring an external programming tool. The converter uses non-coated boards, making it best suited to clean, controlled cabinet environments where excessive moisture, dust, and corrosive contaminants are absent. For installations that rely strictly on hardwired input and output signals, the converter is delivered with no fieldbus option. A compatible optional communication card may be installed later if the control architecture requires network communication with a PLC or another supervisory system.
