Product Description:
The 175Z0653 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It varies the speed of three-phase induction motors so pumps, fans, and conveyors can operate according to process demand. By adjusting the output frequency, the converter can lower energy use and reduce mechanical wear in automated lines. This model follows the VLT 5000 platform, providing a familiar parameter set and consistent mounting geometry across the available power sizes.
It accepts a nominal 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing the inverter to connect directly to common industrial feeders without a transformer. During continuous operation at 110% torque, the drive is rated for 11 kW. Applications that require 160% short-term torque can use the reduced continuous rating of 7.5 kW, supporting either constant-torque or overload-oriented duty. Integrated communication is provided through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, allowing setpoints, feedback, and diagnostic data to be exchanged with PLCs over a shielded cable. The electronics are installed inside a compact IP20 housing that protects against accidental finger contact but requires installation in a clean control cabinet. A factory-installed Class A1 filter attenuates high-frequency noise on the supply lines to limit conducted emissions.
Circuit logic is handled by a process control card that executes closed-loop algorithms for speed regulation or basic process feedback. A kit with a front-mounted display shows current, frequency, operating status, and alarm codes without requiring an external operator panel. The power section uses uncoated circuit boards, which support effective heat dissipation but require the cabinet to remain within the recommended humidity limits. The standard hardware level corresponds to the baseline VLT 5000 parts and software library. The drive does not include an integrated application option, but a suitable expansion module can be selected when the installation requires additional inputs and outputs or advanced process control functions.
