The 175Z0649 is a versatile frequency converter. It is produced by Danfoss for industrial use. The converter is used in applications that require control of different types of industrial motors. Its main purpose is to produce variable AC output. The AC output, when applied to the motor input, controls its speed and other parameters. VLT 5000 series converters have two power stages connected by a DC bus. The first power stage performs rectification of the AC. The resulting DC output of the first stage is connected to the input of the second stage, which is an inverter. The inverter stage is controlled by PWM control algorithms. The controlled inversion allows the frequency converter to produce AC output with variable amplitude and frequency. While the input voltage is fixed at a voltage that lies between 380 and 500 Volts, the amplitude output can be varied from 0 Volts to a desired amplitude value that can’t exceed the input amplitude.
Similarly, while the input frequency is fixed to a value that lies between 50 and 60 Hertz, the output frequency can be varied from a minimum of 0 Hertz to a maximum output frequency of 1000 Hertz.
