Product Description:
The 175Z0577 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. This AC drive takes fixed-frequency three-phase power and delivers a variable-frequency output so production machinery can match motor speed to process requirements. By inserting closed-loop speed control between the mains and an induction motor, the converter helps reduce mechanical stress and energy consumption in automated conveyor lines, centrifugal pumps, and ventilation systems. The unit is supplied with a process control card and includes an on-drive parameter display for local adjustment.
The drive accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, so it connects directly to standard industrial feeders without an isolation transformer. In applications that need up to 110% of rated torque, it can deliver 11 kW of mechanical power at the motor terminals, while more demanding cycles requiring 160% breakaway torque are supported up to 7.5 kW. Communication with higher-level controllers is handled through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, enabling setpoint exchange and diagnostics over a deterministic fieldbus. The power stage is extended with a 24 V backup and brake chopper, providing logic retention during mains outages and dynamic braking capability during rapid deceleration.
The drive uses a book-style IP20 enclosure that fits into dense panel layouts while providing touch-safe protection within the cabinet. Conducted emissions are reduced by the integrated Class A1 filter, making the unit suitable for general-purpose industrial environments without an additional external filter. Its uncoated circuit boards require installation in an area free from high humidity and corrosive vapors. The unit has no built-in application option, so its application layer uses the standard feature set. Adequate cabinet ventilation helps remove heat from the converter during continuous operation. Proper separation of power and control wiring can also reduce electrical interference in connected automation equipment.
