Product Description:
The 175Z0575 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. The unit mounts inside control cabinets and synthesizes a variable output frequency so that AC motors follow programmable speed and torque commands. By replacing mechanical throttling with electronic regulation, the converter improves energy efficiency and maintains steady process variables in pumps, fans, and conveyor drives found throughout automated production lines. Its cabinet-mounted design also keeps the power electronics protected while allowing the converter to regulate motors used in continuous or variable-load processes.
The converter accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, matching common low-voltage plant feeders. For applications requiring 110% continuous torque, the drive supports 11 kW, while high-overload duties at 160% torque are limited to 7.5 kW. These two power ratings allow the drive to accommodate different duty cycles and thermal loads. Communication is provided through the integrated Profibus DP V0/V1 interface at 12 Mbaud, enabling remote parameter entry and status polling. Cabinet space is conserved by the slim book-style IP20 housing, and the standard hardware platform supports consistent wiring layouts and control tools across the product line.
An internal Class A1 filter suppresses conducted emissions, reducing the need for additional line filtering in many industrial installations. Control functions reside on a process control card capable of executing PID loops for applications that require direct regulation of pressure, flow, temperature, or other process values. Operating data is presented locally through the supplied display fitted to the front panel, giving users access to drive status and adjustable parameters. The circuit assemblies use non-coated boards, so the converter should be installed in a clean, dry enclosure that limits exposure to moisture, dust, and airborne contaminants. Profibus addressing, motor data entry, and protective limit settings can be configured through the available control interface without modifying the internal hardware.
