Product Description:
The 175Z0570 is a frequency converter manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It varies the output frequency delivered to three-phase induction motors so that conveyors, pumps, or fans can operate at the speed requested by a process controller. The product is intended for panel installation in industrial automation systems where variable-speed operation can reduce motor energy consumption and provide controlled torque profiles. Its ability to regulate motor speed also supports applications in which production rates or fluid flow must change in response to process conditions.
Electrical integration is based on a three-phase supply of 380–500 V, allowing direct connection to common industrial power systems. With 110% overload capacity, the converter delivers 7.5 kW, while a short-term torque demand of 160% is supported at up to 5.5 kW. These ratings allow the drive to accommodate continuous operation as well as heavier intermittent loads. Communication with higher-level PLCs is handled through the integrated Profibus DP V0/V1 interface at 12 Mbaud, enabling remote parameter changes and diagnostic data exchange. The book-style IP20 enclosure occupies minimal cabinet width while providing basic protection against accidental contact with live parts. Internal circuit boards are uncoated, so the cabinet must provide suitable protection against moisture and airborne contaminants.
Conducted emission control is provided by a built-in Class A1 and Class B filter, reducing the need for external line filters in many industrial installations. Thermal energy produced during rapid deceleration is managed by the standard brake chopper assembly, which routes excess DC-link energy to a user-selected braking resistor. Motor behavior is supervised through the process control card, allowing the converter to regulate operation according to process commands. Operating values and status information can be viewed locally using the supplied display. No additional application option modules or option cards are installed, leaving the converter with its standard control configuration and interfaces.
