Product Description:
The 175Z0567 is an AC frequency converter produced by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It modulates the voltage and frequency delivered to three-phase motors so plant controllers can match shaft speed and torque to process demands. By integrating the inverter directly into a cabinet, users can replace mechanical throttling devices and improve energy efficiency on pumps, fans, and conveyors.
Housed in a book-style IP20 frame, the converter fits into narrow panels while allowing airflow from bottom to top. It connects to a 380–500 V three-phase supply, and the internal rectifier accommodates that voltage range so no external transformer is required. When process controllers need distributed communication, the embedded Profibus DP V0/V1 interface operating at 12 Mbaud exchanges setpoints and status over shielded RS-485 cabling. Dynamic braking is supported by a standard brake chopper, allowing the drive to dissipate regenerated energy without requiring an oversized motor. Harmonic emissions are limited by the integrated Class A1 and Class B filter, which reduces conducted noise to meet industrial electromagnetic compatibility requirements. At 110% overload, the drive can supply 7.5 kW for one minute without derating.
Control logic resides on a process control card, which provides discrete and analog input and output connections for closed-loop regulation without an external PLC. Because the drive uses non-coated circuit boards, it should be installed away from airborne corrosive substances that could damage or bridge the circuitry. The drive is supplied without a display, so parameter access requires a remote keypad or fieldbus tools while the front plate remains flush in densely packed enclosures. Under a 160% torque demand, the inverter is rated for 5.5 kW, allowing short-term acceleration or stall recovery on heavy loads.
