The 175Z0561 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Intended for factory automation, the drive converts fixed mains energy into a variable output that lets controllers match motor speed to real-time process demands. By managing voltage, current, and braking functions within a single frame, it removes the need for mechanical throttling devices and simplifies panel wiring in conveyor lines, mixers, and centrifugal pumps. Its variable-frequency output also allows connected motors to operate at speeds appropriate for changing production requirements rather than continuously running at full speed.
Process regulation is achieved with a dedicated process control card, and communication with plant PLCs is handled over Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, supporting cyclic data exchange and acyclic parameter access. The input section accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing connection to common industrial power systems within that voltage range. Under 110% overload conditions, the inverter can sustain an electrical output of 5.5 kW, while the 160% torque profile limits continuous power to 3.7 kW. These two power ratings accommodate motors used with either constant-torque or variable-torque loads. Conducted emissions are reduced by the integrated Class A1 and Class B filter, which helps minimize electrical interference affecting adjacent instrumentation and control wiring.
Physical integration is supported by the book-style IP20 enclosure, which fits narrow control cabinets while providing finger-safe terminals. Thermal energy generated during dynamic braking is routed through a standard configuration with a brake chopper, so an external resistor relay is not required for moderate-inertia loads. The unit is supplied with uncoated circuit boards, allowing the electronic components to remain visible without a conformal coating. Because the converter is supplied without a display, parameters must be entered through remote software or an external keypad. This arrangement places local parameter control outside the cabinet door while retaining access through compatible external control equipment.
