Product Description:
The 175Z0545 is a frequency converter manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. This unit converts fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output so induction motors can be accelerated, decelerated, and maintained at the exact speed required by process machinery in industrial automation. It fits in cabinet systems where space is limited and supplies regulated torque for pumps, fans, and conveyors.
It is designed for a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing direct connection to common industrial mains without external transformers. When the application permits a 110% overload, the drive delivers 2.2 kW of mechanical power at the motor shaft, while duty cycles that require 160% momentary torque are supported up to 1.5 kW. The slim book-style IP20 housing leaves neighboring modules accessible while guarding live parts against accidental contact inside the panel. System communication is handled through a Profibus DP V0/V1 interface operating at 12 Mbaud, so the converter can be configured and monitored from a central PLC with deterministic cycle times. This communication interface reduces wiring requirements and supports real-time status feedback during production.
The internal architecture uses a process control card that provides closed-loop algorithms for coordinating speed references, ramp profiles, and protective trips. Conducted emissions are attenuated by a filter rated for Class A1 and Class B, which helps the installation meet EN 61800-3 limits without additional line chokes. The converter uses non-coated circuit boards, which are suitable for service environments where humidity and airborne contaminants are controlled. A supplied display provides local access to parameters, alarms, and operating data, eliminating the need for a separate handheld programmer. The standard hardware configuration has no built-in option, leaving the expansion slots available for future application modules if site requirements change.
