Product Description:
The 175Z0533 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As a variable-speed drive, it modulates the output frequency supplied to three-phase induction motors, allowing automation systems to adjust process flow and mechanical load in real time. By combining power electronics, closed-loop control, and network connectivity, the unit provides energy-efficient speed regulation for pumps, fans, and conveyor mechanisms on production lines.
Mounted in a book-style IP20 enclosure, the converter fits beside other drives without external ventilation ducts, although its ingress protection limits installation to clean control cabinets. A built-in fieldbus interface supports Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, so setpoints and diagnostic data travel over a single twisted pair rather than through discrete terminals. The power section accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply and can deliver up to 1.1 kW of motor power for applications requiring a 110% torque overload. Command execution is handled by a process control card that processes analog references and interprets digital feedback, providing closed-loop regulation without external PID hardware. A front-mounted display provides parameter access, and the converter uses the standard Danfoss design.
For greater load surges, the drive sustains 160% torque with a 0.75 kW mechanical rating, giving smaller machines brief acceleration capability without requiring oversized cables. The converter has no built-in option, which keeps the module depth minimal and leaves auxiliary card slots available for future expansion. The unit uses uncoated circuit boards, so ambient humidity must remain within the permitted limits to prevent surface tracking. Electromagnetic compliance is supported by an integrated Class A1 and B filter, which helps the cabinet pass conducted-emission tests on typical industrial feeders without additional line filters. Proper cabinet placement also protects the open enclosure and uncoated electronics from dust, moisture, and conductive contaminants during operation.
