Product Description:
The 175Z0530 is an AC frequency converter produced by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As a power electronics module, it modulates three-phase mains power to regulate the speed and torque of induction motors used in process automation, ventilation systems, and pumping installations. Its controls allow motor operation to be adjusted to changing process demands instead of running continuously at full speed. The converter shares mechanical dimensions and parameter structures with other drives in the same platform, which supports consistent cabinet layouts and system configuration.
Incoming power for the converter must be a 380–500 V three-phase supply, allowing the same unit to operate on networks rated at either 400 V or 480 V. At 110% overload, the inverter can deliver 1.1 kW of mechanical output, providing a short-term torque boost for demanding process startups. Communication with plant controllers is handled through Profibus DP V0/V1 at 12 Mbaud, so parameter data and diagnostic information can be exchanged over a single shielded network trunk. Cooling air passes through a compact book-style IP20 housing that supports dense installation in multidrive panels while protecting against accidental finger contact with internal components. Conducted emissions are limited by an integrated Class A1 and B filter, which reduces the need for separate external filtering equipment.
Control functions are handled by a process control card that accepts analog references and digital input and output signals for stand-alone regulation. During continuous operation at 160% torque, the available power is 0.75 kW, making the converter suitable for constant-tension or high-inertia loads that require extended overcurrent capacity. The electronics use non-coated circuit boards, so the unit is intended for clean electrical rooms rather than locations exposed to corrosive gases, condensation, or heavy airborne contamination. Assembly is based on standard hardware, supporting the normal electrical and mechanical arrangement for this model. The converter is supplied without a display, so operating information and parameter access require an external keypad or compatible software interface. It also has no installed application option, leaving application-specific control functions to external equipment or the standard process control card.
