The Danfoss 175Z0372 is a frequency converter from the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series, designed with a bookstyle IP20 enclosure and non-coated boards. It operates with a 380-500 V three phase supply and supports power sizes of 2.2 kW at 110% torque and 1.5 kW at 160% torque. This model features a process control card and standard hardware with a 24V external supply.
Internal Product Review
The 175Z0372 is a Danfoss VLT 5000 frequency converter built for 380-500 V three-phase supply. A process control card and Class A1/B RFI filter performance make the converter well suited for stable, low-interference operation. The Bookstyle IP20 enclosure gives cabinet installations a practical form factor and rounds out a strong drive package.

Product Description:
The 175Z0372 is an AC frequency converter produced by Danfoss and supplied under the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Installed between the mains supply and an induction motor, it synthesizes variable-frequency, variable-voltage output so plant controllers can adjust shaft speed, process flow, and energy consumption in real time. The device is suited for pumps, fans, and conveyor modules where reliable electronic speed control replaces mechanical throttles and gear changes while maintaining consistent torque across a wide operating range. Its electronic control system also allows operating parameters to be adjusted for the connected motor and the requirements of the application.
The drive is housed in a book-style IP20 enclosure that fits narrow control cabinets while allowing top-to-bottom airflow. A dedicated process control card provides proportional-integral regulation, and the standard platform accepts an external 24 V supply so the logic can remain active during mains interruptions. The power stage connects directly to a 380–500 V three-phase supply. Within this voltage range, the converter can deliver up to 2.2 kW when the application requires 110% of rated torque. Electromagnetic compatibility on the mains side is enhanced by an integrated Class A1 and Class B filter, permitting installation in industrial networks that require limited radio-frequency emissions. Adequate cabinet clearance must be maintained around the airflow path to support heat removal during continuous operation.
The base configuration has no built-in option, and the unit uses uncoated control boards. It is also supplied with no fieldbus option, so external communication hardware can be selected when network connectivity is required. Local parameter entry requires remote tools because the front panel has no display. Under heavy dynamic cycles, the converter supports 160% torque output, corresponding to 1.5 kW of mechanical power. This intermittent overload capacity supports variable-duty machinery such as conveyors and mixers during acceleration or temporary load increases. Remote configuration also provides access to the process-control settings and motor parameters without relying on an integrated operator panel.
