Product Description:
The 175Z0317 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a variable output so induction motors can accelerate, decelerate, or maintain a precise speed in automated plants. By varying voltage and frequency simultaneously, the unit allows pumps, fans, and conveyors to match process demand, reducing energy use and mechanical wear in industrial automation. Its compact construction allows cabinet installation where space is limited, and compatibility within the series supports standardized maintenance across multiple drive sizes.
Rated power depends on the selected overload profile. When the drive is set for 110% torque, it can deliver 11 kW, while the 160% torque setting limits continuous power to 7.5 kW. The input stage accepts a three-phase supply between 380 and 500 V, eliminating the need for transformers in most low-voltage installations. The electronics are housed in a compact IP54 enclosure, which protects the power section against airborne dust and water splashes. Conducted emissions toward the mains are suppressed by the integrated Class A1 RFI filter, supporting installations that share switchgear with sensitive instrumentation. Regulation and sequencing are handled by a process control card, enabling closed-loop speed or pressure adjustment without an external controller.
The converter has no fieldbus option, and its application expansion slots are empty because no dedicated software card is installed. Local monitoring is available through the supplied display, which shows parameters, faults, and operating status on the front panel. The power stack and control core use standard hardware for the VLT 5000 platform. The printed circuit assemblies are uncoated, so periodic cleaning may be required in areas with high humidity or airborne contamination.
