Product Description:
The 175Z0305 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It is an adjustable-speed AC drive intended for industrial automation tasks where regulated motor torque and speed are required for conveyors, pumps, and fans. The product follows the VLT 5000 designation and is suitable for mounting directly on machinery without a separate enclosure. Its compact form supports installation near driven equipment where available mounting space is limited.
This drive connects to a three-phase mains supply in the 380–500 V range and provides two continuous output ratings based on overload demand. It delivers 7.5 kW at 110 percent torque or 5.5 kW at 160 percent torque. The enclosure has a compact IP54 design, which shields internal components from dust and splashed liquids during normal plant operation. Internal electromagnetic compatibility suppression is provided by a built-in Class A1 and B filter, reducing conducted emissions on the motor and mains cables to meet industrial radio-frequency limits. Installation close to the motor can minimize cable length and associated voltage drop.
Control signals are processed by a process control card, which serves as the primary regulation layer for the speed and torque loops. The printed circuit assemblies use non-coated boards, making them appropriate for clean electrical rooms where added protection against moisture and corrosive contaminants is unnecessary. Network communication requires an external module because of the lack of a fieldbus option. User interaction is provided through a factory-installed display unit that shows operating status, fault codes, and parameter values. Drive logic runs on standard hardware, providing a consistent operating platform across compatible VLT 5000 equipment. The display also provides direct access to operating parameters when adjustments are needed at the installed unit.
