Product Description:

The 175Z0156 Frequency Converter combines precise input resolution, fast signal scanning and advanced protective functions. The unit is built with integral safety systems including phase monitoring and thermal protection.

This 175Z0156 frequency converter includes four programmable pulse and encoder inputs that are available on terminals 17, 29, 32 and 33. The terminal 17 supports a maximum frequency of 5 kHz while terminals 29, 32 and 33 can operate at 20 kHz with PNP open collector or up to 65 kHz in push pull configuration. The maximum input voltage is 28 V DC with input resistance rated at 2 kΩ. Each input is scanned in 3 milliseconds that ensures accurate processing of signals. The resolution is rated at 10 bit plus sign. Accuracy across various frequency ranges is well defined: terminals 17, 29 and 33 offer a maximum error of 0.5 % of full scale for 100 Hz to 1 kHz; terminal 17 achieves 0.1 % error between 1 Hz and 5 kHz; and terminals 29 and 33 maintain 0.1 % error between 1 Hz and 65 kHz. The control card of this converter also provides a 24 V DC supply on terminals 12 and 13 with short circuit protection supporting loads up to 200 mA. The grounding points are provided on terminals 20 and 39 to ensure safe operation under varying conditions.

The 175Z0156 frequency converter incorporates advanced VLT protection for motor safety. The current measurement across all three motor phases prevents damage from earth faults and short circuit issues at the motor connection. The constant monitoring of all motor phases allows secure switching of motor output through external contactors. The phase failure monitoring ensures immediate shutdown during supply loss.

Frequently Asked Questions about 175Z0156:

Q: How does the 175Z0156 frequency converter handle high-speed signal input from encoders in dynamic systems?

A: It supports up to 65 kHz input frequency in push-pull configuration on terminals 29, 32, and 33. Fast 3 ms scan time ensures accurate pulse recognition for closed-loop control.

Q: What kind of frequency accuracy does the 175Z0156 deliver when operating across varied encoder input ranges?

A: It offers 0.1% full-scale accuracy between 1 Hz and 65 kHz on select terminals. This allows tight speed control in high-resolution motion applications.

Q: How does the 175Z0156 frequency converter support safe external circuit operation during overload or short events?

A: The integrated 24 V DC supply provides short-circuit protected output up to 200 mA. This ensures reliable peripheral support without compromising internal drive safety.

Q: What protection strategies are built into the 175Z0156 to handle phase failure or supply interruptions?

A: It monitors all three motor phases and shuts down on phase loss detection. This prevents motor damage from unbalanced supply or phase failure scenarios.

Q: How does the 175Z0156 converter support stable motor switching during fault-prone conditions?

A: It constantly measures current across motor phases and isolates output if abnormal current is detected. This helps safeguard external contactors and motor terminals during fault events.
