The 175Z0138 is a frequency converter manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Acting as an AC drive, it transforms fixed-frequency utility power into a variable-frequency output that controls the speed, torque, and direction of an induction motor. Electronic adjustment of motor slip allows pumps, fans, and conveyors to respond to changing load demands. This capability can reduce mechanical stress and unnecessary energy use in automated process lines.
For electrical compatibility, the converter accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply that matches common plant distribution systems. For applications requiring a 110% overload margin, it provides 3.0 kW of continuous power. Applications requiring a 160% overload margin are supported by a 2.2 kW rating. These output levels help users select a suitable motor and provide adequate panel ventilation. A standard brake chopper channels regenerated energy to an external resistor during rapid deceleration or stopping. Conducted emissions are attenuated by an integrated Class A1 and Class B filter, which helps the installation meet applicable electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The drive has no additional built-in option and uses the standard parameter set supplied for this configuration.
Control input and output functions are provided by an internal process control card. The card supplies analog references, digital commands, and relay outputs for motor and contactor control.
