The 175Z0125 is a process-control expansion card designed for integration into the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series from Danfoss. The card installs inside a compatible drive and adds closed-loop regulation functions for industrial automation systems. It allows the converter to maintain precise motor speed, torque, and process variables in applications such as pumps, conveyors, and mixers. By processing feedback from connected sensors, the option can adjust the drive reference in response to changing operating conditions. This capability supports applications that require consistent flow, pressure, or motion under varying loads.
The option draws control power from the drive’s mains section, which accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, keeping internal cabinet wiring simple. Its circuitry is enclosed in a compact IP20 housing that protects against accidental finger contact while remaining suitable for dense panel layouts. The built-in electronics function as a process-control card that can read analog process signals, execute PID algorithms, and pass corrected references to the inverter section. A supplied display provides access to setpoints and error codes without requiring an external terminal. The interface also makes operating information available directly at the drive. To reduce conducted electromagnetic noise, the assembly uses a Class A1 and B filter that attenuates high-frequency switching harmonics and helps the complete drive meet industrial EMC limits.
The electronic platform uses a standard hardware build based on the baseline component arrangement for the series. When the host drive is configured for applications that permit 110% overload for one minute, the card supports a motor rating of 1.5 kW. For applications requiring 160% overload during shorter transients, the supported motor rating is 1.1 kW. These ratings accommodate different load profiles within the same converter frame without requiring a different controller card. The lower transient-duty rating provides additional overload capacity for demanding acceleration or torque events, while the higher rating supports loads with a more moderate overload requirement. Selection between the two ratings depends on the overload behavior of the connected motor and its application.
