Product Description:
The 175Z0119 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. Classified as an AC variable-speed drive, it modulates the voltage and frequency delivered to an induction motor so that production lines, HVAC skids, and material-handling equipment can adjust speed in response to process commands. This capability allows tighter regulation of flow, pressure, or throughput while reducing energy consumption in industrial automation systems. The converter can respond to changing operating demands without requiring mechanical throttling devices or fixed-speed motor operation.
The unit accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, so it connects directly to typical plant power without step-up or step-down transformers. When an application requires up to 110% of nominal torque, the converter provides 1.1 kW. At a 160% overload, the available output is 0.75 kW, allowing the drive to support higher transient torque demands at a lower power rating. A compact IP20 housing provides finger-safe protection and is intended for mounting inside a clean electrical cabinet. Conducted emissions on the mains are attenuated by the built-in Class A1 and B filter, supporting compliance with electromagnetic compatibility limits in industrial areas. Drive logic is handled by a process control card that supplies the analog references and digital I/O required for closed-loop speed, pressure, or temperature regulation.
The power stage uses uncoated circuit boards, making the converter suitable for clean environments that are free from corrosive vapors and excessive contamination. The base model includes no fieldbus option, so communication with a network requires an optional expansion module. Compatible communication choices can include PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, or Ethernet modules when networked control is required. The available expansion position can also accept application cards for specialized functions, such as advanced cascade control. This arrangement allows the converter to operate through its standard control interfaces while preserving the ability to add communication or application functions later.
