The 175Z0116 is a configurable frequency converter belonging to the VLT 5000 product series from Danfoss Automation. This converter has a book style IP20 design and can be used with all types of 3-phase asynchronous standard motors. Small motor designs typically require a start connection to operate with this product, while larger motor designs are start-connected. It is also possible to use this adjustable frequency converter to control the operation of up to three different motors simultaneously; however, the total amount of current consumed by the motors should not exceed the maximum rated output current of the converter. A control panel is installed on the front of this frequency converter. This panel is made up of a display unit, keys for changing program parameters, and keys for local operation. The display is a 4-line alphanumeric display. During standard operation, it is able to communicate up to 4 measurements and 3 operating conditions continuously. Below the keypad on the control panel, there are three LEDs that signal alarm, warning, and the power status of the product.
The proper handling and operation of the 175Z0116 requires the proficiency of well-trained personnel that is familiar with the Danfoss product and have gone through its documentation. There are three in-built controllers in this product; these include the speed control, process control and torque control. The speed and process control exist in the form of a PID controller and requires constant feedback from an input. The torque control, on the other hand, does not require feedback since the product is able to automatically calculate torque through the use of the current it measures.
At full load, the 175Z0116 frequency converter should be used in an ambient temperature that does not exceed 40 degrees Celsius; the altitude at which this converter is installed should also be maintained below 1000 meters above sea level.
