Product Description:
The 175Z0077 is a frequency converter built by Danfoss and supplied as part of the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As a power electronics module, it modulates three-phase mains power to regulate induction motor speed and torque in automated process lines, conveyors, and HVAC equipment. The unit belongs to the VLT 5000 product line and is suitable for mid-range industrial motion tasks that benefit from dynamic speed control without mechanical throttling.
The process control card accepts standard analog or contact signals, allowing the drive to integrate with level, flow, or temperature control loops without specialized software. Mechanical protection is provided by a book-style IP20 enclosure, which allows dense cabinet installation while offering finger-safe access to terminals. The power stage is designed for a 380–500 V three-phase supply, matching common low-voltage distribution systems in industrial plants. Internal braking energy is routed to a resistor through the standard package with a brake chopper, helping prevent DC bus overvoltage during rapid deceleration. A supplied operator display provides local parameter entry and real-time operating information without requiring an external keypad. The converter has no application option or fieldbus module, so communication is handled through discrete and analog signals.
For load profiles that require 110% continuous torque, the inverter has a power rating of 11 kW. Applications that need short bursts of up to 160% torque can use the reduced power rating of 7.5 kW. The converter uses non-coated circuit boards, so it should be installed away from high moisture and corrosive atmospheres. Conducted emissions are limited by a factory-installed Class A1 filter, making the drive suitable for Category C2 environments when it is wired correctly. Configuration is performed through the front display and the analog process interface.
