Product Description:
The 175Z0074 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As a modular AC drive, it governs the speed of three-phase induction motors so that pumps, fans, and conveyors can track process demands rather than running at a fixed line frequency. By modulating output voltage and frequency with insulated-gate bipolar transistors, the unit allows energy savings, gentle motor acceleration, and tighter closed-loop control of flow, pressure, or throughput in automated plant equipment.
Electrical integration centers on a 380–500 V three-phase supply, so the converter connects directly to common industrial switchboards without step-down transformers. Inside the book-style IP20 housing, the uncoated circuit boards rely on cabinet airflow, while the narrow enclosure format lets multiple drives share limited panel width. The controller uses a process control card, enabling proportional speed regulation from analog or digital setpoints. The drive has a standard configuration with a brake chopper that dissipates regenerated energy during rapid deceleration. When operated at 110% torque overload, the drive delivers 11 kW of mechanical power at the motor shaft, supporting short production peaks. No local display is fitted, so setup and adjustments are performed through external tools or remote terminals.
The configuration includes no fieldbus option, leaving the control terminals available for hardwired I/O or an external gateway. The slot reserved for functional extensions has no built-in option, preserving internal airflow and keeping the base configuration uncomplicated. For applications that require longer overload periods, the 160% torque profile permits up to 7.5 kW of continuous output without thermal derating. Conducted emissions are limited by a Class A1 filter, keeping line noise within industrial limits even when cables are unshielded. The converter supports process applications that require controlled acceleration, regenerative braking, and flexible external control connections within an IP20 cabinet installation.
