The 175Z0068 is a drive unit manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into a variable-frequency output so plant controllers can adjust motor speed, match process demands, and reduce mechanical stress in automated production lines. The drive uses a book-style design that allows multiple converters to be mounted side by side in narrow cabinets while maintaining the clearances required for normal operation.
The converter accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, covering common industrial power systems that operate around 400 V. Its slim book-style IP20 housing provides basic protection against accidental finger contact and accommodates forced airflow within an electrical cabinet. The unit is supplied in a standard configuration with a brake chopper, allowing regenerative energy from a decelerating motor to be directed to suitable braking equipment. Under a 110 percent torque profile, the drive provides 7.5 kW of motor power for applications with moderate overload requirements. Under a 160 percent torque profile, its continuous motor power is 5.5 kW, supporting loads that require greater starting or acceleration torque. These ratings allow the drive to serve different motor-loading profiles without changing its physical cabinet footprint.
