Product Description:
Danfoss supplies the 175Z0061 as a variable-frequency drive within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. The unit regulates the speed of three-phase induction motors by adjusting the frequency and voltage delivered to the motor. Typical applications include pumps, fans, and process conveyors that must respond to changing load demands. Variable-speed operation can limit unnecessary energy consumption when connected equipment does not require full motor output.
The drive is packaged in a book-style IP20 housing that fits into narrow control cabinets without requiring additional shielding. Its input section accepts a 380–500 V three-phase mains supply, making it compatible with common industrial power systems. The integrated power stage is rated for 5.5 kW when 110% overload torque is permitted for one minute. Motor torque is managed by a process control card that provides closed-loop adjustment of frequency and voltage. Because the card is integrated into the base unit, parameter processing occurs locally even though the drive does not have a display. Conducted emissions are suppressed by a Class A1 and B filter, allowing installation on general-purpose industrial networks without additional line chokes. The book-style enclosure contains air-cooled electronics that rely on natural convection to remove internally generated heat.
For continuous duty at 160% torque, the power stage is limited to 3.7 kW under that loading profile. The drive has no built-in application option, so external modules are required when application-specific motion functions are needed. Its uncoated control boards are intended for clean electrical rooms rather than humid environments or washdown areas. The drive also has no fieldbus option, so remote commands must pass through hardwired analog or digital terminals. The unit uses a standard configuration and does not include a human-machine interface. Since no display is installed, operating information cannot be viewed directly from a local display panel.
