Product Description:
The 175Z0059 is an AC frequency converter produced by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. The device modulates three-phase mains power to supply variable voltage and frequency to induction motors, enabling speed regulation, energy matching, and torque control in automated process lines. It fits into control cabinets used in water treatment, HVAC, and material-handling equipment where precise motor adjustment can improve throughput and reduce mechanical stress.
Electrical integration is straightforward because the converter accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, and the embedded power module delivers up to 4.0 kW for applications requiring 110% overload torque. A second power rating provides 3.0 kW at 160% overload for shorter acceleration periods. Thermal management is supported by the slim book-style IP20 housing, which mounts edgewise to minimize panel depth while permitting convection airflow. Conducted emissions are managed by an integrated Class A1 and B filter, reducing the need for additional external radio-frequency interference hardware in suitable installations. Command processing is handled by a process control card, which supports programmable setpoints, PID loops, and analog feedback channels for closed-loop regulation.
Drive protection and braking are enhanced by the standard configuration with a brake chopper, which controls the transfer of regenerated energy from the DC bus to a compatible braking resistor. The converter uses uncoated circuit boards, making it suitable for clean electrical rooms where conformal coating is unnecessary. Local status monitoring and parameter entry are available through the supplied display, which shows operating values and fault codes without requiring a separate handheld programmer. Network communication remains simple because the unit has no fieldbus option, so integration relies on hardwired input and output connections. This arrangement supports installations that use direct control signals rather than specialized communication or application modules.
