The 175Z0051 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss within the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. This product type modulates the voltage and frequency supplied to three-phase induction motors so that plant controllers can vary speed, torque, and energy use during production. By replacing mechanical throttling with electronic regulation, the converter supports automated pumps, blowers, and conveyors that require continuous yet adjustable motion in industrial environments.
It accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply on terminals L1, L2, and L3, allowing direct connection to common industrial networks without step-down transformers. Under continuous operation, the inverter can deliver 3.0 kW when the drive is sized for 110% overload and 2.2 kW when 160% overload capacity is required, providing two torque profiles from a single frame. The slim book-style IP20 housing permits side-by-side mounting inside ventilated panels while guarding against contact with live parts. To limit conducted emissions, the integrated Class A1 and B filter meets general-purpose radio-frequency interference limits. The converter does not include an application option, so extensions must be connected externally through the control cabinet. Its compact format helps conserve panel space while maintaining access to power and control terminals.
Control functions reside on a process control card, which handles analog and digital references without a network coupler because of the lack of a fieldbus option. Drive status feedback is instead available through serial terminals. A front plate without a display maximizes airflow and reduces the enclosure depth. The power section has an extended power stage with a 24 V backup and brake chopper, so the control logic remains powered during line-power interruptions and the DC link can dissipate regenerated energy during rapid deceleration.
