The 175Z0041 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. This variable-speed inverter conditions incoming AC power and delivers a commanded voltage and frequency profile to induction motors. By adjusting motor speed in real time, the converter supports flow, pressure, and positioning loops in material-handling lines, HVAC fans, and general process machinery. The controlled output allows connected equipment to respond to changing process demands without relying solely on mechanical throttling or fixed-speed operation.
Operating from a 380–500 V three-phase supply, the drive fits common industrial low-voltage networks and does not require a transformer on a compatible 400 V distribution bus. The slim book-style IP20 enclosure allows side-by-side mounting inside control panels while providing basic protection against accidental contact. For applications that require a brief overload, the unit delivers 1.5 kW at 110% torque. When the duty cycle requires 160% torque for more aggressive acceleration, its continuous capability is 1.1 kW. Electromagnetic interference is limited by the integrated Class A1 and Class B filter, helping reduce conducted emissions near sensitive instrumentation. Because no fieldbus option is installed, speed references and control commands must use conventional analog or digital input and output connections.
The drive is a standard version with a brake chopper, allowing excess regenerative energy to be directed to a suitable braking circuit rather than returned to the mains. Drive logic is executed by a process control card, enabling onboard PID loops and ratio control without an auxiliary processor. A front-mounted supplied display shows operating frequency, current, and alarm codes for direct monitoring. The electronics use non-coated circuit boards, so the installation environment should protect the internal components from excessive moisture and airborne contaminants. The application bay is empty because no application option is installed. Analog and digital terminal strips therefore provide the primary command path for the converter.
