The 175Z0032 frequency converter is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. The unit is an adjustable-speed drive that converts fixed factory power into controlled output for asynchronous motors used in material handling, pumping, and general process equipment within manufacturing plants. By varying voltage and frequency, it keeps motor torque aligned with production demand, which minimizes energy use and mechanical stress in automated installations. Its regulated output also allows machinery to operate across a useful speed range without requiring mechanical speed-control devices.
Its housing uses a book-style IP20 enclosure, so the converter can be installed densely inside a ventilated panel while still providing finger-safe protection. The input section accepts a 380–500 V three-phase supply, matching common industrial mains without requiring a step-up transformer. A process control card handles setpoint processing and feedback scaling, replacing analog potentiometers with digital logic.
