Product Description:
The 175Z0025 frequency converter is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 5000 Frequency Converters series. As an AC inverter, it processes incoming three-phase power to deliver controlled voltage and frequency, allowing automated machinery to adjust motor speed without mechanical throttling. By coordinating with sensors and higher-level controllers, the device can regulate conveyor, pumping, and fan assemblies that require stable speed loops and reduced energy consumption. Its compact format also supports installation in control cabinets where available mounting space is limited.
Inside a book-style IP20 enclosure, the converter connects to 200–240 V three-phase mains. Standard hardware rectifies and inverts the supply, while the built-in Class A1 and B filter suppresses high-frequency noise so the drive can operate in commercial or light-industrial switchgear without additional line chokes. Under continuous operation at 110% torque, the inverter outputs 4.0 kW, while the 160% overload profile permits up to 3.0 kW for short acceleration periods. Because the unit has no display, setup and parameter adjustments are performed through a detachable keypad or PC software connected to the control terminals. This arrangement allows operating values to be entered without adding a permanent operator panel to the front of the enclosure.
The control layer uses a process control card that provides analog references and relay outputs for straightforward PID tasks. The unit has non-coated circuit boards, making it suitable for clean electrical rooms rather than locations exposed to salt spray or chemical vapors. The converter has no built-in application option, so advanced application functions must be handled by an external controller when required. It also has no factory-installed fieldbus option, meaning PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, and Ethernet communication modules are not included. External control wiring can still provide command references and status signaling through the available analog and relay connections. Expansion accessories may be added when an installation requires networked coordination with other drives or supervisory control equipment.
