The VLT 2900 series is available in multiple configurations, providing flexibility to suit diverse needs. It supports mains supply voltages from 380 to 415 V with a frequency range of 0.2 to 132 Hz. This drive ensures a true power factor of 0.90 and a displacement power factor of more than 0.98. In some configurations, the output frequency can be extended up to 1000 Hz. The unit is air-cooled and it requires a minimum air passage of 100 mm for proper cooling. With a wide temperature range of 0°C to 45°C the VLT 2900 may operate successfully up to 55°C with derating. Additionally, it provides precise speed control with an accuracy of ±23 rpm in open loop and ±7.5 rpm in closed loop. The efficiency of the unit ranges from 96% to 97% which depends on the model. It operates with a rated output current of 1.7 A for smaller models and up to 18.5 kg in weight. The unit also supports an overload torque of 160% for both constant and variable torque applications that makes it appropriate for a wide range of operational requirements.

In the VLT 2900 series, if the interior temperature surpasses 100°C, the unit will shut off automatically. It also provides protection against phase loss and intermediate circuit voltage. It may be fine-tuned for specific applications by adjusting parameters such as motor power, current restrictions and braking functions.
