Product Description:
Danfoss manufactures the 195N2194 for its VLT 2900 Industrial Drives series. This AC variable frequency drive converts fixed-frequency AC power into a variable-frequency output so induction motors can run at the speed required by conveyors, pumps, or fan systems in automated plants. By providing electronic regulation instead of mechanical throttling, the unit supports tighter process control and lower energy consumption while remaining suitable for modest-power applications using a 400 V supply.
Under nominal operating conditions, the drive reaches an electrical efficiency of 96%, so only a small fraction of the input power becomes heat. With a 400 V line supply, it draws 4.7 A and delivers 5.2 A to the motor terminals. This output current supports an apparent power of 3.6 kVA, while the mechanical shaft output is rated at 2.2 kW. Thermal dissipation equals the 110 W power loss recorded at full load, which must be considered when determining panel ventilation requirements. Field wiring uses separate 4 mm² (10 AWG) conductors for the motor and incoming supply connections. Upstream protection is provided by a 20 A fuse that disconnects the drive during severe electrical faults.
The plastic and metal housing carries an IP20 rating, providing protection against finger contact when the unit is mounted inside a cabinet. During short overload events lasting up to 60 seconds, the input current can rise to 7.5 A, while the inverter can supply 8.3 A on the output side. These overload margins accommodate brief acceleration peaks without requiring continuous operation above the nominal current ratings. The unit has a mass of 3.7 kg, allowing installation on a suitable DIN rail or back plate without heavy support hardware. Its compact housing helps conserve cabinet space, while the ventilation arrangement must allow the specified full-load heat loss to escape. Motor and supply conductors should be routed separately and protected according to the stated wiring and fuse requirements.
