Product Description:
The 080G0285 is a modular controller supplied by Danfoss in the MCX Programmable Controllers series. It is intended to manage industrial refrigeration, HVAC, and heat pump assemblies by executing user logic that processes sensor data, drives outputs, and exchanges information with higher-level supervisory systems. The unit combines signal conditioning, communication, and a small operator interface inside a DIN-rail enclosure to streamline cabinet layouts for automation builders.
The controller incorporates 14 analog inputs, and each channel presents an impedance of 33 kΩ, so thermistors or 0–10 V transmitters can be read accurately without excessive loading. There are 6 analog outputs for modulating drives or valve positions. Discrete signaling is handled by 18 digital inputs that accept dry contacts or 24 V logic, while 15 digital outputs source or sink control signals for relays, fans, or alarms. Two dedicated EXV drivers energize stepper coils with a peak phase current of 650 mA, providing direct actuation of electronic expansion valves. Internal auxiliary rails deliver 200 mA at 15 V and 140 mA at 5 V to external sensors. All electronics fit behind a front plate that is 16 DIN modules wide, so the controller occupies one standard row without exceeding typical cabinet depth.
The controller is powered by 230 V AC, eliminating the need for a separate low-voltage power supply. For field networks, an Ethernet connection terminated through an RJ45 port supports TCP/IP services, and two RS485 ports support Modbus RTU chains. A monochrome LCD is integrated into the unit. Its 128 × 64-dot display provides sufficient space for setpoint editing and alarm codes. Data logging and software updates are handled through a side-mounted SD/MMC slot, and the controller provides two expansion headers for additional I/O when greater capacity is required. These headers allow compatible expansion modules to be connected without changing the controller’s primary network connections or occupying its built-in input and output channels.
