Product Description:
The 080G0034 programmable logic unit is supplied by Danfoss within the MCX Programmable Controllers series. As a compact controller, it combines discrete, analog, and communication resources to execute user logic for HVAC, pumping, or general automation tasks. It collects field signals, processes them with embedded programming, and operates onboard relays or analog channels so that connected equipment follows predetermined sequences. The integrated resources allow the controller to manage several types of field devices without requiring separate signal-processing modules.
The device operates from 24 V AC with a ±15% tolerance, and its circuitry draws up to 17 VA when energized by alternating current or 10 W from a direct-current source. Signal acquisition is handled by 8 analog inputs that accept temperature, pressure, or potentiometer references. The controller has 4 voltage-type analog outputs, each of which supports a load resistance of at least 1 kΩ and produces 6.8 V under open-circuit conditions. Eight digital inputs, each limited to 5 mA, monitor contact closures. Two PWM or PPM channels provide variable-duty control signals for compatible transducers. An optically isolated RS485 interface connects the controller to supervisory equipment. The front cover has an IP40 rating, providing protection against access by solid objects larger than 1 mm.
The output stage controls electromechanical loads through eight installed relays. Two relays are intended for high-inrush applications and have a continuous rating of 16 A. Their contacts tolerate surge currents up to 80 A for 20 ms when large inductive devices are first energized. The combined current across all relays must not exceed 32 A, which helps keep circuit-board traces and connectors within their operating limits. The remaining standard relays switch lighter circuits, including fans, pumps, valves, or alarm indicators. All switching hardware is installed on one compact board, reducing the amount of separate equipment required inside a distributed control box.
