The 136G7347 soft starter is manufactured by Danfoss as a member of the MCD Soft Starters series. It is engineered to start and stop three-phase induction motors with a gradually rising or falling voltage profile, which reduces inrush current and limits torque shock to connected equipment. Installed inline with the supply, the device serves as a compact alternative to star-delta arrangements and helps reduce the footprint of motor control centers in automated processing lines. Because it uses thyristor control rather than mechanical contact sequencing, it also reduces electrical transients on shared mains circuits and supports smoother motor operation during acceleration and deceleration.

Its continuous line capacity is 42 A, which is the maximum RMS current the starter can carry within its thermal operating range. To reduce heat after acceleration, an internal bypass contactor automatically shunts the power devices once the motor reaches nominal speed. The unit uses Frame Size 1 and accepts three-phase power at its terminals, which suits compact motor control assemblies.
