The 136G7346 soft starter is produced by Danfoss as part of the MCD Soft Starters series and is part of the 600 line. Designed for induction motors supplied with three-phase power, the unit manages voltage ramp-up and current limitation to reduce mechanical shock and electrical stress at startup within automated machinery. This operating method helps reduce belt shock, coupling stress, and sudden current peaks during motor starting. It uses frame size 1, the smallest mechanical format in the 600 line.

It supports a continuous motor current of 20 A, which matches the thermal capacity of the power section during normal operation. The mains voltage window of 200–525 V AC allows the unit to be used on low- and medium-voltage branches without tap changes. After ramp-up, the soft starter transfers load to an internal bypass contactor to reduce heat dissipation. Protective coordination is assisted by a fuse rating of 30 A, and a 3-cycle short-circuit current rating of 5 kA indicates the maximum fault level the enclosure can tolerate before upstream protection clears the fault. An impulse withstand capacity of 6 kV helps the control electronics survive line transients generated by switching or lightning. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it guards against accidental finger contact but must be installed inside a panel.

During abnormal events, the device must coordinate with supply protection so that fault energy is limited quickly and safely. Its fault current rating of 65 kA indicates the prospective short-circuit level it can safely withstand when paired with properly sized upstream breakers. When connected to a 480 V network, the starter is sized for motors up to 10 hp. The control circuitry is insulated to 690 V AC, so it maintains dielectric separation from conductive parts well above the highest mains voltage accepted by the 600 line.
